Freedom of the City

June 11, 2011

St. Albert's 150th Anniversary Celebration Committee was pleased and excited to see this honour bestowed on the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) during St. Albert’s 150th year. The Freedom of the City is one of the highest honours a community can bestow upon a military unit.

The June 11, 2011 ceremony was performed in recognition of the regiment’s heroic efforts in Afghanistan and to show appreciation for the many soldiers who contribute to the St. Albert community.
